„I am very disappointed to announce that my upcoming European tour dates have had to be cancelled due to the uncertainties of travelling throughout the EU, so soon after Brexit has happened. Although I have already completed one European tour leg, I was very much looking forward to getting in front of my fans in France, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands and I am very upset that, this year, this is no longer going to happen.
Brexit is now looking very likely to happen just a few days before the European tour dates and will almost definitely have an impact on our tour logistics. We do not want to take the risk of having to cancel shows at the last minute should we face travel or border issues. We are very sad but we had to make this decision now with enough time ahead to allow for refunds to be processed in good time. We / I would like to apologise to everyone who has been impacted by this and we / I hope to make this up to all of you / my fans in the not too distant future.

Imogen Heap ist eine vielseitig talentierte Frau: Sängerin, Songwriterin, Produzentin und Tontechnikerin in einem; seit ihrer Kindheit spielt sie Klavier, Cello und Klarinette, später kamen Gitarre, Schlagzeug und weitere Instrumente dazu, und nebenbei brachte sie sich das Samplen bei.
Ihr Solodebüt „iMegaphone“ war noch klassischer Alternative Rock, dann wechselte sie die Sparten, wie es ihr passte: Dance, Electronica, Pop, HipHop gehören genauso zum Repertoire wie akustische Songs oder klassische Tunes. Sie hat die Aufnahmetechnik revolutioniert und Filmmusik geschrieben, Sinfonie-Orchester dirigiert, fürs Theater komponiert (zuletzt für das Stück „Harry Potter and the Cursed Child“) – und eine Sharing-Plattform für Musik auf Basis der Blockchain-Technik entwickelt („MYCELIA“).
Heap hat zwei Grammys im Schrank stehen und den Ivor Novello Award daneben, sie hat mit Musikern aller Richtungen zusammengearbeitet, von Jeff Beck bis Britney Spears, von deadmau5 bis Jon Bon Jovi, von Thomas Dolby bis Herp Alpert. Man darf getrost feststellen: Imogen Heap hat jede Menge Ahnung, Erfahrung und Einfluss und viel zu erzählen.
Seit sechs Monaten ist die Britin auf Welttournee – wobei Heap auch hier den Begriff einer klassischen „Tournee“ weiter fasst. Sie bringt bei ihren Veranstaltungen sich, das Publikum, Musiker und Musikschaffende bei Workshops, Gesprächen und Konzerten zusammen. Diese Konzerte sind kleinere und sehr intime Auftritte – teilweise zusammen mit Guy Sigsworth, mit dem sie das innovative Electronic-Duo Frou Frou gründete und seit 2003 nicht mehr gemeinsam auf der Bühne gespielt hatte.
In ihrer Musik jedenfalls hat Imogen Heap es immer wieder geschafft, etwas Neues zu formen, etwas Besonderes und Großartiges zu entwickeln, ihre Shows sind akustisch und optisch stets von herausragender Qualität. Das wird mit Sicherheit auch im November der Fall sein, wenn Imogen Heap für eine exklusive Show nach Berlin kommt.
